Survey Air were commissioned to produce a high-quality, immersive flythrough video to showcase the refurbishment works at Citi View, a premium university accommodation refurbishment next to Paddington Station.
The flythrough was designed to highlight newly completed internal and external upgrades, blending architectural storytelling with dynamic aerial and interior footage, capturing the scale and quality of the building transformation.
Challenge
Filming in a densely populated and highly regulated area of Westminster posed significant challenges, with strict airspace controls, busy pedestrian zones, and limited operational windows. Successful coordination was essential for safe drone operations.
Internally, showcasing a vibrant, lived-in space while minimising disruption required a carefully scheduled shoot across multiple days. Balancing natural light, student privacy, and consistent visual tone added complexity to the planning process.
Approach
We carried out a detailed pre-site survey and risk assessment, securing permissions for aerial operations and mapping safe flight corridors. We deployed both interior FPV and exterior GPS-stabilised drones to create a seamless visual journey.
Filming was executed over two days, with early-morning sessions capturing shared spaces and exteriors. Post-production included bespoke sound design, motion graphics, and branding integration to align with the client's marketing objectives.
