We were instructed to carry out a comprehensive drone survey at Meridian Leisure Park, a prominent retail and entertainment hub in Leicester. The client required an efficient and detailed inspection of the high-level roof areas across multiple buildings within the park.
Our primary objective was to capture high-resolution imagery that would assist in the preparation of survey reports, aiming to incorporate the findings into their survey reports to assess the site's suitability for potential acquisition.
Challenge
The layout of the park posed a significant challenge, requiring a methodical approach to ensure that all high-level areas were accurately surveyed. The size made traditional inspection methods impractical and time-consuming.
The retail park's continuous operation meant that the survey needed to be conducted with minimal disruption to businesses and visitors, with precise planning needed to avoid peak times and potential impact to on-site activities.
Approach
Our team used sub 250g drones equipped with cameras, allowing us to capture detailed imagery of the roofs and high-level structures, whilst improving safety and reducing separation distances from members of the public.
The data was processed quickly, with our team delivering high-resolution imagery and detailed analysis in a matter of days. This rapid turnaround enabled the client to proceed with their site assessment in record time.
