Project Overview
Our client was instructed to undertake a suite of 7-year PPM surveys on behalf of the Salvation Army, incorporating 18no locations across the UK, including sites in the South East, Midlands, North West, Scotland & Northern Ireland.
The purpose of the drone surveys was to assist with the inspection of the roof and high-level areas, record the condition and provide information for the surveyors and mechanical engineers to deliver recommendations within their reports.

Challenge
The 18no Salvation Army sites were in different regions of the UK, which required considerable administration to organise multiple pilots, pre-notifications, travel arrangements and survey preparations on programme.
As a number of the premises were occupied by residents with cognitive impairments such as dementia, it was important to provide advance notice to site managers to mitigate any potentially adverse impact from the presence of drones.
Approach
Our team attended all 18no sites within a period of two-weeks with 4no separate survey groups created based on locations and a fixed survey schedule to notify the various site managers of our expected arrivals.
With our technical background, Survey Air maximised the efficiency of inspection through our understanding of how the information would be used and following our standard inspection methodology to reduce the time spent on each site.
