Project Overview
Survey Air was commissioned to produce high-quality marketing imagery and FPV drone video to showcase the recent refurbishment of The Bower, a premium office building located in the heart of Old Street, London.
The project aimed to highlight the modernised interior and exterior, capturing dynamic visual content for digital marketing, including both wide contextual views of the building in its urban setting and detailed perspectives of its newly upgraded features.
Challenge
The building’s location on Old Street presented significant operational challenges due to dense surrounding structures, high pedestrian traffic, and limited open space for UAV take-off and landing, requiring careful planning to maintain safety and regulatory compliance.
Additionally, internal FPV video sequences demanded precise timing, piloting skill, and coordination with on-site staff to avoid disruption to the building’s occupants, ensuring clear shots of reflective glass surfaces, furnishings and architectural features.
Approach
Survey Air deployed a combined aerial and FPV media strategy to deliver the required visual content. Safe flight paths and operational zones were established in advance, allowing for smooth capture of wide-angle and dynamic motion shots.
The team coordinated closely with building management to schedule flights during optimal lighting conditions and low-traffic periods, achieving comprehensive coverage to film in a single day while ensuring full compliance with CAA regulations.
