Project Overview

Due to the confined yard areas and amount of vehicles, it was not possible to get a cherry picker on site to access the roof areas and collect sufficient data to advise on the condition.

We carried out a comprehensive survey of all roof elements and delivered the high resolution images, including an interactive map showing the photo locations, within 24hrs of inspection.

Challenge

We carried out site-specific RAMS to identify potential ground hazards, such as moving vehicles and persons on site. On this occasion, overhanging trees were also noted to the site boundaries.

With the site constraints of a congested industrial estate, it was important for all relevant parties, such as the building owner and tenant occupiers, to be adequately notified prior to the operation.

Approach

We coordinated with onsite staff to select an appropriate take off and landing site (TOLS), set aside from any main access points and routes, adhering to all health and safety requirements while on site.

Following an on-site assessment of suspected ground hazards, as detailed in our RAMS, the flight path was mitigated to avoid the trees and closely capture the blocked rainwater goods to the rear elevation.
